Prepositions are position and relationship words — they tell us where something is, when something happens or how things relate to each other. Class 2 IEO covers prepositions of place (in, on, under, behind), time (at, in, on) and direction (to, from, through, into). Bronze questions choose the correct preposition for a simple location. Silver questions test prepositions in longer sentences with more context. Gold questions require all blanks in a sentence to be filled correctly, often mixing time and place prepositions together.

Correct: B) on
We use 'on' for surfaces. The cat is sitting on the surface of the chair, so 'on' is correct.
Aarav lives ___ the third floor ___ a tall building. Choose the correct prepositions.
Correct: A) on, of
We say 'on the third floor' (a level/surface) and 'of a building' (showing belonging). 'In a building' would suggest being inside, not on a specific floor.
Which sentence uses a preposition correctly?
Correct: C) The bird flew above the tall trees.
'Above' correctly shows the bird's position higher than the trees. Option A: should be 'arrived at school'. Option B: should be 'jumped into' (entering water). Option D: should be 'walked in the park'.

Correct: A) from, at, in, in
'From' Mumbai = starting point. 'At' 9 am = specific time. 'In' Delhi = inside a city. 'In' the evening = a period of time. The correct answer is: from, at, in, in.

'On' is used for days of the week and specific dates. Option A: 'on 14 March'. Option B: 'in the morning'. Option D: no preposition before 'last year' (we say 'visited last year', not 'in last year').
