Multiplication appears in almost every Class 2 IMO paper — and not just as isolated facts. Silver and Gold questions embed multiplication inside word problems: rows of trees, boxes of chocolates, hours of work. A child who only memorises tables will struggle when the table fact is hidden inside a two-step problem. The five questions below build from a single multiplication fact (Bronze) to multi-step reasoning where multiplication is just one part of the solution (Gold).
