Grade 2 Maths Olympiad Practice Questions (Class 2 IMO, SOF)

Class 2 Math 15 topics · 75 free questions · Updated June 2026

The Grade 2 Maths Olympiad (SOF IMO) tests 15 topics across three difficulty levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The paper has 35 multiple-choice questions and rewards children who can think mathematically, not just calculate quickly. Topics range from Place Value and Number Sense (the foundation) through Addition, Multiplication and Division to applied areas like Measurement, Time, Money and Shapes. The final section tests Logical Reasoning, the structured puzzles that cannot be solved by memorisation alone.

Every topic page below has 5 free practice questions: one Bronze (direct recall), two Silver (word problems and application) and two Gold (multi-step logic). The questions follow the exact difficulty pattern used in real IMO papers. Pick a topic to start practising.

Frequently Asked Questions

What topics are covered in Grade 2 Math Olympiad (SOF IMO)?
The Grade 2 IMO covers 15 topics: Number Sense, Place Value, Addition & Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Measurement, Time, Money, Shapes & Geometry, Data Handling, Patterns, Mixed Operations, Word Problems and Logical Reasoning.
How many questions are in the Class 2 IMO Math paper?
The SOF IMO for Class 2 has 35 multiple-choice questions with 4 options each (40 marks, 60 minutes). It has four sections: Logical Reasoning (10), Mathematical Reasoning (10), Everyday Mathematics (10) and the Achievers Section (5 harder questions worth 2 marks each). No negative marking.
How to prepare for Class 2 Maths Olympiad?
Practise at least 5-10 questions per topic each day. Start with topics your child finds easy to build confidence, then work through harder ones. When a question is wrong, read the explanation carefully. Understanding why matters more than memorising the answer. Glovoy's Bronze, Silver and Gold levels match the three difficulty bands in the real IMO paper.
What is a good score in Class 2 IMO?
Class 2 sits a single Level 1 paper, 35 questions for 40 marks (Level 2 begins from Class 3). A child who can reliably solve Bronze and Silver questions is well placed; the Gold-level questions (multi-step logic, worth 2 marks each in the Achievers section) are what set apart the top ranks and international recognition.
