Terms of Use: Glovoy Words

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using Glovoy Words, our vocabulary-learning app for Grade 1-6 children preparing for English olympiads and spell-bee competitions. By setting up a profile or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Glovoy Words is operated by TecEnc, a sole proprietorship registered under the Udyam MSME scheme, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India ("we", "us", "our"). For the umbrella Glovoy terms that cover our sibling products, see glovoy.com/terms.

1. Who May Use Glovoy Words

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to set up a Glovoy Words profile. Profiles are created by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of a child; children do not create their own profiles.

By creating a profile, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose profile you create, that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf, and that you have given consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

2. What Glovoy Words Provides

Glovoy Words helps a child build a daily vocabulary habit through short spaced-repetition sessions. The service includes:

  • Free tier: a daily Word of the Day and the full Bedtime Stories library, available without payment and after the trial ends
  • Premium subscription: the full daily practice across all four IEO sections (vocabulary, grammar, reading and expression), the complete mastery ladder, repeatable Practice Tests, the parent dashboard with progress and weak-word insights, and the weekly parent email

Glovoy Words is a practice tool. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice, and we will not be liable for any such change.

3. Subscriptions, Free Trial and Billing

Free trial

New users receive a 14-day free trial of the full app. The trial is card-free: we do not collect payment details to begin it, and nothing is charged when it ends. To continue with Premium after the trial you choose to subscribe; you are never charged automatically.

Subscription plans

Premium is offered as an auto-renewable subscription on two plans: ₹149 per month or ₹999 per year (or such other price as displayed in the app at the time of purchase; the price shown at purchase is always the price that applies). Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Billing and renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple App Store account (or Google Play account) on confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

Cancellation

You may cancel at any time by managing your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep Premium access until then. We do not offer partial refunds for unused time in a period, except where required by applicable law.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests must be directed to the relevant store in accordance with its refund policy. TecEnc does not process refunds directly for in-app purchases.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Reproduce, distribute, sell or sublicense any content from the app without our written permission
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
  • Use automated tools to access or extract content from the app
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measure, access control, or the parental gate
  • Upload or transmit viruses or any other malicious code
  • Use the app in any way that could harm a child

We may suspend or terminate access without notice if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

5. Intellectual Property

All content in Glovoy Words, including the word corpus, definitions, example sentences, audio, questions, curriculum design, text, graphics, logos and software, is owned by or licensed to TecEnc and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. This licence does not include any right to copy or redistribute content, to use our content to train AI or machine-learning models, to create derivative works, or to use our trademarks or brand elements without permission.

6. Privacy

Your use of Glovoy Words is also governed by our Glovoy Words Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and explains what data we collect, why, and your rights under India's DPDP Act 2023.

7. Apple App Store: Additional Terms

Where you download Glovoy Words from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

  • These Terms are concluded between you and TecEnc only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the app.
  • In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
  • TecEnc, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer-protection or similar legislation.
  • TecEnc, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party intellectual-property claim relating to the app.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose (such as olympiad or spell-bee exam success), accuracy or completeness of educational content, uninterrupted or error-free operation, and compatibility with any specific device.

Glovoy Words is a practice tool. We make no guarantee that use of the app will result in any particular examination score or outcome.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TecEnc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to reputation, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹999, whichever is greater.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The app and this website may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, the App Store or our privacy-policy references). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or terms of any third-party service, and links do not constitute endorsement.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Display a notice in the app on next launch

Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the app and cancel any subscription.

12. Termination

You may stop using the app and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, without refund of any prepaid subscription fees (except where required by law). On termination, Sections 5 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimer), 9 (Limitation of Liability) and 13 (Governing Law) survive.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
