SOF IEO Class 5 Syllabus & Exam Pattern

From Class 5, the IEO has two levels: Level 1 (the school round, held November-December) and Level 2 (the international final, late January or early February) for students who qualify.

Class 5 exam format (Level 1)

Section 3: Spoken & Written Expression 5 1 5
Section 4: Achievers (HOTS) 5 3 15
Total 50 60

Time: 60 minutes. Multiple choice, 4 options, marked on an OMR sheet. No negative marking. For Class 5, each Achievers question is worth 3 marks. Section 1 (Word & Structure Knowledge) is the single highest-weighted section.
